Good Neighbor Team
The Territorial Cup Series Good Neighbor Team is a scholarship program that was started in conjunction with the State Farm Territorial Cup Series. The purpose of the Good Neighbor Team is to recognize the efforts of student athletes at the University of Arizona and Arizona State University who exemplify all that is right about collegiate athletics. Eighteen student athletes from each school, one from each team competing in the rivalry series will be honored for their successes both on and off the field each academic year.
Eighteen student athletes from each school, one from each team competing in the rivalry series will be honored for their successes both on and off the field. $20,000 in scholarships will be made to the general athletic scholarship funds at each school in recognition of the recipients.
To be eligible for the State Farm Good Neighbor Team, student athletes must fulfill the following requirements:
- 3.0 GPA
- 20 Hours of Community Service
State Farm has suggested, but not required that community service hours be done in the following areas:
- Service Learning - Service-learning programs integrate classroom curriculum with service to the community.
- Systemic Improvement - Volunteering to assist schools with programs that improve the delivery of education by teachers and improve education effectiveness.
- Student Achievement - Assisting, mentoring, and tutoring at-risk students in the areas of Mathematics, Reading and English Comprehension.
